CLANDESTINE FUEL CENTER LOCATED IN VILLAGRAN; 12 THOUSAND LITERS OF FUEL AND STOLEN VEHICLES SECURED

A property allegedly utilized for the illegal storage and transport of fuel was successfully secured during a joint operation conducted in the municipality of Villagrán, Guanajuato, Mexico. The intervention was carried out by elements of the Fuerzas de Seguridad Pública del Estado (FSPE) alongside the Guardia Nacional.

Approximately 12,000 liters of hydrocarbons were recovered during the deployment, along with extraction infrastructure and two motor vehicles carrying active theft reports. The official report detailing the findings was provided by the Secretary of Security and Peace of Guanajuato, Juan Mauro González Martínez.

Inspection activities took place along a dirt road situated in the Arboledas neighborhood. At this location, authorities detected a tank truck and two underground cisterns buried in the earth, which served as reservoirs for the illicitly obtained product.

Further inspection of the surroundings revealed two additional motor vehicles confirmed to have active theft reports after being cross-referenced in the database, alongside two motor pumps used to facilitate the transfer of the fuel. Additionally, a hose originating from the storage zone was traced for approximately 50 meters, leading inspectors to an irregular connection linked directly to a Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) pipeline.

Authorities emphasized the severe dangers associated with these illicit perforations into national energy infrastructure, noting that they represent a latent threat to nearby residents, local properties, and the surrounding environment due to the constant risk of leaks, fires, or explosions.

All recovered hydrocarbons, alongside the tank truck, the retrieved automobiles, the cisterns, the pumping equipment, and the secured hose, were placed at the disposal of the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) delegation in the municipality of Celaya. The federal prosecutor's office will direct the corresponding investigations to integrate the case file and establish criminal responsibilities.
