ESCUINAPA, Sinaloa, Mexico — A coordinated security operation carried out by members of the Mexican Army and the Special Operations Group of the Sinaloa State Public Security Ministry led to the arrest of 11 individuals in the community of La Isla del Bosque, situated within the municipality of Escuinapa in the southern region of Sinaloa.
According to reports issued by the commands of the III Military Region and the 9th Military Zone, federal and state personnel were conducting routine ground reconnaissance and surveillance patrols when the intervention took place. Official statements from military authorities indicated that the detained suspects are allegedly linked to a local cell associated with a faction operating within the Sinaloa Cartel. Following the conclusion of the field operation, the individuals and the confiscated materials were transferred and placed under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General's Office (FGR) based in Culiacán, where the formal investigation will proceed.
